I knew when I talked to my brother on the phone today and he was complaining to me about how I haven't posted in forever that it had been far too long. I promise I've actually been busy. I can't believe it's only Saturday, I've already done so much!
Thursday night was super fun! My friend, Barbara, and I were going to see Spoon at the Wiltern in L.A. We figured we would just head on up to L.A. to beat the horrific traffic and we ended up stopping by and seeing my sister who I haven't seen since October! SAD! Then we headed over with my sister to see the ladies at Stitch n Bitch, who I have not seen in forever since I work every Thursday night! It was so good to see all those ladies. Next semester I'm making sure I don't work on Thursday nights so I can see them. After hanging out with those ladies for a little bit, Barbara and I headed over to the Wiltern to see SPOOOONNNN!
So here's Barbara and me.
The concert was so fun and the Wiltern is such a cool venue. Forgive me for not knowing the opening bands names, but I feel like I need to talk about one of them for a second. The first opening band was fun and entertaining, but the second band was on a whole other level. Imagine the Christian rock version of Hootie and the Blowfish. That is exactly what they sounded like. When they first came out I was waiting for them to stop playing and start laughing and be like, "Okay guys, we're just kidding, now we'll start our real show!" They never did, but they DID play songs like "Sick of food" that included lyrics like "I'm sick of food, so why am I still hungry?" and another classic liner that went along the lines of, "She's a little girl that's experiencing the world."
Spoon was so much fun though. The lead singer is adorable. Not to mention, we got an encore performance and most bands do one or two songs for an encore, but they did 4 or 5. Spoon will forever be good in my book. The only thing I was bummed about was, I swear to God they played every song off all their albums except for my favorite one. That was kind of a bummer, but I still have a great time!
After the show, I took Barbara to my favorite place in the world, aside from Disneyland....The Statue House! If I ever met the guy who created this piece of wonder I would shake his hand and tell him he's my hero.
Friday night I saw Harry Potter with Wes. Super fun. It starts off slow, but pulls together pretty well. The director did a great job on portraying teenage angst and the beginning of dating. Super cute and funny!
I also got another bag this weekend. It's from the same girl that I mentioned in my last post. This bag is even bigger and I love it!
The picture doesn't really show how big it is, but it's huge! I love big bags!
I wanted to show the cool button on it and on my other bag the button is really cool too.
And then this is the inside of it. FUN!
