In the four years that I lived in Southern California I did not feel a single earthquake. I have now been living in San Francisco for 2 and 1/2 months and I have felt my first SF earthquake! It was a 5.6.

My first reaction was, "Oh the Muni is going by." Then the house just kept shaking and it kept getting stronger and I realized it was a earthquake.

So now I get to wait out the aftershocks. Awesome!
